Position Description/Responsibilities (CCC/Vendor)

Computer Aid, Inc has an opportunity for a leading-edge Proposal Director.  In this role, you will provide proposal vision to CAI’s team and produce stakeholder documentation that drives business profitability and growth.  CAI delivers over 100+ bids to government and private sector companies each year, comprised of bids from $50K to $20+ M.   CAI’s Proposal Team currently includes Proposal Managers, Writers, Proposal Production Analysts and a Graphic Design Artist.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a collaborative demeanor. Additionally, he or she must have prior experience managing proposal teams and be familiar with the latest innovative trends and technologies that maximize the value and quality of each deliverable.  

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establish a cutting edge, award winning proposal culture and structure. 
  2. Build excellent relationships with CAI’s sales team members and management at all levels.
  3. Coach and mentor the proposal team members.
  4. Produce high value added responses that exceed stakeholder expectations.  
  5. Dashboard tracking of work assignments, metrics, and resource time.
  6. Effectively distribute the team’s workload while leading in a manner that produces a high level of synergy.
  7. Keep abreast of related industry trends and seek continuous improvement to the proposal team’s collaboration and business processes. 
  8. Refine CAI’s graphics library and proposal content system and repository.

Position Requirements/Technical Skills (CCC/Vendor)

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BS degree in Communications/English/Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience writing proposals
  • 5+ years’ experience with People/Team Management
  • 5+ years’ experience with Project Management
  • Development of Policies/Procedures
  • Experience building successful teams
  • Capable of researching, developing, and implementing new processes and technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, prioritize and make sound decisions
  • Can travel by personal car and plane for meetings at other locations (limited and mostly local)
  • Work a variety of hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends)
  • Experience with large, complex bid development; 20+M
  • Provide monthly metrics on wins, losses and value generation
  • Strong experience in proposal creation, including:
    • Strategic themes (win, ghost, etc.)
    • Backbone creation and storyboarding
    • Proposal execution and workflow management
  • Background in IT Services highly desirable
