The Sr. Software Developer is part of a team responsible for linking computer technology decision making and investments with a state or states Unemployment insurance technical business strategy. The individual is responsible for organizing and guiding a consensus of decisions on policies, principles, services, standards, guidelines, and common solutions for the betterment of the organization and state UI agencies. The Sr. Software Developer is responsible for working with both internal and external partners to further the capabilities of existing products and tools. The Sr. Software Developer will work closely with states, steering committees, internal partners, and the U.S. Department of Labor to understand required development needs and enhancements.
Tasks and responsibilities undertaken by this position include development of internal tools that are used by state Workforce agencies, Proposal Evaluations, Use Case and Requirements Development, hands-on Quality Assurance support during the design, development, implementation, and operation of projects. Support of existing platforms and monitoring of all environments supporting development and productions.
This is a remote position. The individual selected will work from home. Travel is required for meetings, run workshops and training sessions for states and to work with State staff and their IT vendors on various UI IT initiatives. In addition, the travel to Washington DC on an as needed basis to NASWA ITSC office is a requirement. (Travel expenses will be reimbursed). It is expected that the individual selected for this position will also work independently under contract with a state or group of states under the guidance of the Technology Director and Director of Software Services.
