Computer Aid, Inc. is looking for an Expert Level Project Manager with 7+ years of experience!   Duration 24 months.


This position comes to us from our NY State contract for Hourly Based Information Technology Services and is located in Albany, NY.  Albany is in the beautiful upstate region of NY, which is only a few hours from Boston, New York City, Montreal, and the spectacular mountains of the Adirondacks.

Position Requirements/Technical Skills (CCC/Vendor)

 

 

Project Scope- duties of position

 

This position will work directly with Department senior executive and executive staff in the implementation of multi- faceted, high visibility projects.

 

Daily Tasks will include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Defining and managing project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Managing project teams in the development of business cases, requirements gathering, business and technical documentation, testing and deployment planning, risk mitigation strategies and project status reporting.
  • Acting as manager to a staff oriented in matrix management techniques, including negotiating with senior management on resource allocations, project responsibilities and tasking as well as mentoring and training resources as necessary.
  • Communicating project status to team members as well as management including project status presentations to executives both inside and outside the Agency.
  • Functioning as a facilitator to clarify business and technical requirements which cross project team boundaries.
  • Identifying project risks and dependencies and providing implementation alternatives to mitigate project risk related to scope, schedule and budget.
  • Performing all tasks with strong written and verbal communication skills.

 PART A:  The ONE MANDATORY REQUIREMENT:

 

Expert Level 

You must be an Expert Project Manager with documented employment experience of 7+ years (84+ months).

 

-  You must have experience with overseeing projects comprised of multiple deliverables. Delegating and coordinating of tasks.  Project status, meetings, scope changes, issues.

 

-  You must be able to provide leadership of large teams and/or extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

  


PART B:   Requested Desirable  Qualifications:  
The numbered qualifications below are not mandatory, but candidates should meet or exceed in duration and skill set target asked for, at least 3 of numbers 1 through 6. 

  1. Four-year college level degree with coursework in Information Technology or Project Management, or national certification in Project Management.

  2. Minimum of 84 months experience with multi entity project teams in the development and successful implementation of multi-million dollar, multi-year development projects.
  3. Minimum of 84 months experience implementing projects utilizing industry standard system life cycle methodologies, which includes iterative project planning, design and development.
  4. Minimum of 84 months experience managing project teams developing in IBM Websphere Portal utilizing JDK 1.5 or above and which utilize business analysts and testers experienced with Requisite Pro, HP Quality Center and/or Quick Test.
  5. Minimum of 60 months experience implementing deployment strategies spanning multiple entities, including risk mitigation strategies associated with ensuring implementation success, dissecting deployments into manageable risk adverse phases, and involving both Agency and Vendor teams across highly available and scalable multitier applications using Object Oriented or Service Oriented Architecture.
  6. Minimum of 36 months experience managing projects in a state or federal government environment, related to criminal justice processing and improvements in criminal history record information systems, including but not limited to public safety agencies, the court system, and federal law enforcement agencies.
