Computer Aid Inc. (CAI) is a $500M global IT consulting firm that specializes in high value, long term managed services engagements with our clients.  We are currently looking for an IT Software Development Manager to lead an outsource team in one of our strategic accounts.  This role is a combination of strategic, technical and tactical, working in close collaboration with our client in transformation from a legacy environment to an automated, digital, cloud based enterprise, operating in an agile framework.    


This management position requires experience leading Agile development efforts and encompasses a wide range of skills including technical leadership in web/e-commerce applications (.Net, Sitecore), strong knowledge of the full SDLC including QA/Testing, personnel management, application roadmaps, release planning, team performance metrics analysis, client executive reporting and acting as a strategic advisor on technology options, best practices and transition to Agile.


Communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with all levels of client and CAI team personnel is critical.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a team of technical resources, including development and QA specialists, in a combined on/offshore environment
  • Lead the detailed planning and execution of projects and releases for the applications in scope – includes estimating, resource planning, budgeting, risk management and project controls
  • Provide technical and functional expertise on the application scope managed by the CAI team – requires knowledge of .Net, , e-commerce platforms, and mobile (Sitecore experience highly preferred or similar platform)
  • Provide technical and functional expertise on Agile development integration - leading the CAI team and client to a higher level of proficiency and increased velocity
  • Ensure good documentation and sharing of knowledge across the CAI team
  • Function as a strategic partner with client in understanding the needs of the business, advising on technical solutions, industry best practices – strategic thinking and planning is a must
  • Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly review sessions with all levels of client IT leadership and business partners, producing high quality performance measurements and planning reports to communicate value effectively
  • Successfully navigate and participate in the client’s long term goals of legacy system modernization, moving to the Cloud and digital excellence.
  • Negotiate solutions, risks and trade-offs with the client to define and implement solutions aligned to client’s vision and technology roadmap.
  • Provide recommendations on process automation, efficiency to maximize the team’s effectiveness, quality and productivity
  • Mentor and develop the CAI project team – maintain a positive, motivating culture for all team members (US and India)
  • Troubleshoot, problem solve and/or escalate project and personnel issues
  • Act as a liaison between project teams (CAI and client), management and other vendors
  • Manage the scope of the engagement per contracted agreement and ensure delivery of all in scope commitments
  • Report to the CAI leadership team on progress, issues and engagement performance measures
  • Follow all CAI corporate policies and guidelines on how we conduct business and manage our employees
  • Identify new opportunities within the engagement to help the client with expanded/different services
  • Financial oversight of the managed services engagement

Position Requirements/Technical Skills (CCC/Vendor)


  • BS in Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering or related degree or the equivalent work experience, MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of IT experience, 7+ years of progressive management experience
  • Project Management experience, Waterfall and Agile, PMP and CSM (or other similar Agile certification) required
  • Experience leading Agile integration efforts and managing Agile development teams.
  • Strong budget management skills
  • Previous experience in business analysis and/or systems analysis roles
  • Previous experience in technical roles – development, quality assurance, testing and/or architecture
  • Experience in application support roles, including release planning and delivery, incident/problem ticket management, SLA performance – strong understanding of ITIL – ITIL certification preferred
  • Experience in transformation projects, primarily digital/web based modernizations and replacements  
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and operations in a Microsoft environment including servers, environment management

  • Technical Skills:
  • .Net, SQL Server, Visual Studio - required
  • Team Foundation Server (TFS), Test Manager-required
  • Web Services/Integration -required
  • Microsoft Project, Office Tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Access)-required
  • Sitecore - highly preferred, or similar e-commerce platform
