    Instructional Aide- 


    The position could lead into full time employment as a 'Teacher' or 'Instructional Aide' (as we prefer to promote from within). The position provides a wonderful opportunity to gain work experience and to apply your passion for teaching.



    Job Description:


    Under the direction of the Instructional Coach, the Instructional Aide will perform the necessary duties to assist in the planning and implementation of remediation and enrichment services, including an after school enrichment program and exploratory clubs.


    Essential Duties May Include:

    1. Instruct students utilizing a course of study which meets stated objectives and goals.
    2. Develop and implement, under the supervision of the Instructional Coach, lesson plans for remediaton and enrichment for students in kindergarten and 1st grade.
    3. Co-teach with the Instructional Coach, Classroom Teachers, and/or other Instructional Aides.
    4. Under the supervision of the Instructional Coach, oversee the After School Enrichment Program and Clubs.
    5. Instruct students in citizenship and leadership skills.
    6. Provide, under the direction of the Instructional Coach and Classroom Teachers, individualized and small group instruction that is adapted to meet the needs of each student.
    7. Demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.
    8. Translate lessons plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction and to actively engage the students.
    9. Use a variety of instructional strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
    10. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
    11. Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
    12. Cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing students’ needs.
    13. Create effective learning environments through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and activity/learning centers.
    14. Opportunity to extend scheduled hours by substitute teaching for Classroom Teachers in their absence may also be available.

    Position Requirements/Technical Skills (CCC/Vendor)



    • REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree
    • REQUIRED: Valid Pennsylvania PK - 4 or K - 6 Teaching Certificate
    • Preferred Certifications:
      • Special Education PK - 8
      • Program Specialist - ESL

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Bilingual preferred, but not required.
    • Experience implementing differentiated instruction, guided reading and writing, instructional centers, and cooperative learning.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.


    • Experience working in an instructional environment.
    • Experience using educational software programs and mobile devices in the classroom is preferred, but not required if the candidate demonstrates a desire to participate in the appropriate professional development.
