Position Description/Responsibilities (CCC/Vendor)

CAI is looking for a Junior Engineer  located in Harrisburg, Pa.

This position is to provide a guided temporary technical resource to support a current high volume of project demands in NA region. Current machine connectivity projects as well as projects supporting Machine Learning/AI create a seasonal effect in establishing connectivity to equipment and processes. Following the establishment of machine connectivity for key projects the level of support required decreases to a sustainable level utilizing existing resources.

Position Overview:

As an Electrical Technical Specialist/Contractor, you will report to the digital manufacturing manager and interface directly with the regional Digital Electrical Engineer to provide directed interface solutions for varying electrical manufacturing systems. You will be responsible for design, installation, and verification of interface and sensor based machine monitoring solutions. This position is primarily based in manufacturing sites in the eastern US.

• Provide technical build and installation services in varying manufacturing assets.
• Work with regional plant engineering and maintenance team members to coordinate services.
• Effectively communicate with other digital team and manufacturing engineering team members regarding possible technical difficulties or road blocks when implementing a directed technical solution.
• Provide small industrial control panel solutions when needed including limited I/O count PLC/PC controllers.
• Provide technical documentation such as schematics when documenting installed I/O solutions.
• Perform electrical wiring and programming to facilitate connectivity solutions to varying logical control/monitoring devices.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

A strong technically oriented hands-on engineer/specialist with clearly demonstrated experience and track record of deploying industrial control panel and sensor based technologies in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with common fieldbus hardware and configurations.
• Exposure to different PCs, PLCs, PACs, DCSs, fieldbus technologies, and industrial panel wiring practices.
• Industrial control panel wiring and fabrication experience.
• Good communication skills
• Project management skills to help in coordinating multiple projects
• Trouble shooting and problem solving skills
• Bachelors degree preferred with minimum 3 year experience or 5+ year relevant work experience; technical experiences in manufacturing electrical control panels and wiring with a detailed knowledge of current automation technologies for providing control communication between different ranges of equipment;
• Able to work under a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to work overtime is preferred
• Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites in North America specifically on the East Coast
