Position Description/Responsibilities (CCC/Vendor)

Electronic Technician 

Computer Aid Inc., is searching for an Electronic Tech for a one month contact position (with the possibility of extension) for our client in the Tampa area. Training is paid and provided. Employees receive 2 weeks vacation and great benefits.

You would work as a field technician at the  Toll roads under the jurisdiction of the Florida’s Turnpike, monitoring the electronic systems and providing field customer service troubleshooting, supporting and maintaining the electronic toll system equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of Toll System Equipment working both inside and outside in weather conditions/moving traffic.
  • Responsible for software/hardware installation, upgrades, modifications, programming, preventive and corrective maintenance of toll collection equipment that includes Servers, RF modules, CCTV systems, laser vehicle detectors, power supplies, receipt printers, modems, Fiber Optic cables and/or connectors, network components(routers, switches, cabling), among others.
  • Drive to multiple locations through the Florida’s Turnpike to perform the needed services (Company vehicle provided).
  • Perform other duties as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Interfaces with end users to resolve complex problems concerning system function sometimes interacting with different departments. Assesses diagnostic information and determines alternative courses of action.
  • Ability to follow blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings to put together electronic components, subassemblies, products or systems, working closely with different departments.
  • Ability to use a variety of electronic test equipment as volt/amp meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, network analyzers and basic hand tools.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use a computer for communication and record keeping.
  • Ability to work effectively within all organizational levels and departments to achieve desired results; the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to bend, squat, crawl, reach and maneuver in tight spaces and above ground via bucket truck.
  • Ability to carry/lift up to 50 pounds, climb, pull, push, stand, twist, walk and drive a contractor vehicle under FDOT policies.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and multiple work schedules

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a valid FL Driver's License.
  • Associates degree preferred in Electronic or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years previous electronic experience.
  • Knowledge in Linux, Win7, Office 2013,
  • Knowledge in Fiber Optics, RF and Networking.
