  • Position Description/Responsibilities (CCC/Vendor)

    The IT Project Manager position would include working directly with department customers to:

    • Perform project scope and schedule management
      • Meet with project stakeholders to define charter and project scope, resources and timeline
      • Identify and escalate scope change orders to appropriate level (ie sponsor, steering committee, or executive committee) for review and approval
    • Perform project stakeholder management
    • Perform project vendor management
      • Review vendor proposals and coordinate vendor selection process
      • Establish vendor contract and statement of work
      • Manage vendor project deliverables and timeline
    • Perform project risk and issues management
    • Perform project communications (project status meetings, status reports, presentations, etc.)
    • Perform project quality assurance management
      • Perform monthly project audits of other IT projects
      • Discuss project scope with IT Quality Assurance Manager
      • Establish required project controls and quality gate approvals
    • Perform project budget management
    • Provide project management mentoring services inside and outside of the project
    • Assist with the administration of the project management scheduling tool (Workfront and/or ServiceNow)
    • Develop and maintain project management toolkit



    As an IT Project Manager, the position will also be expected to coach and mentor colleagues, and conduct trainings to contribute to capability building and knowledge sharing (technologies, requirements gathering, business process modeling, etc.) of the team.

    Typical Qualifications


    At least 7 years of experience in the Project Manager role is required. Applicants may substitute additional relevant education for the required experience.                                 


    • Strong Project Management experience in managing Information Technology-related projects
    • Good working knowledge of Information Technology infrastructure and technologies (client server, Software as a Service, etc.)
    • Experience with various project management mythologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
    • Identification, management, and escalation of project risks and issues
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of organization
    • Managing team members in a matrixed organization structure
    • Performing management of external vendors
    • Management of large project budgets > $1M
    • Public sector experience




    • Bachelor’s Degree (4-year) college degree in business, project management, computer science, or equivalent.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Required
    • ITILv3 Foundations Certification preferred
