    CAI is seeking an experienced Network Engineer. This position will oversee and upkeep the daily network hardware and software system operations. The Engineer will help maintain and optimize all networked computers, printers, and other hardware, software, servers, firewall, switched, and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime. 


    The Network Engineer position is responsible for providing daily support to FDC’s network infrastructure. The scope of work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

    • Diagnose and resolve problems across a variety of hardware platforms and vendors including Cisco, HP, Linux, Checkpoint, Infoblox and more;
    • Communicate and work within cross-departmental teams;
    • Identify automation opportunities as well as areas that can be improved to optimize the operation, such as documentation and monitoring adjustments;
    • Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;
    • Work with Data Center staff, OIT, and users to perform server installations, upgrades, and configuration changes;
    • Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements.

    Position Requirements/Technical Skills (CCC/Vendor)

    Must have:

    • 3-5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and software), design, planning and implementation
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
    • Experience with a large (2500 user or more) network environment
    • Installing, configuring, and supporting Enterprise Firewalls, Routers, Switches;
    • Installing, configuring, and Troubleshooting Enterprise WAN and LAN environments;
    • Proficient command line configurations

     Nice to have:

    • Effective communication skills, written and verbal;
    • Working in a criminal justice environment, State government projects;
    • Service Now ticketing and Orchestration;
    • Infoblox DDI administration;
    • Check Point Firewalls, SSL Decryption, URL filtering, ACLs, NAT;
    • Cisco Routers and switches, and HP Switches;
    • Visio diagraming;
    • Kiwi CatTools;
    • Experience with LAN premise wiring, cable management;
    • Mojo wireless controllers and AP’s ;
    • VoIP systems configuration, troubleshooting, and QoS;
    • Wireless security;
    • Network monitoring tools, Nagios, SolarWinds;
    • Linux administration; Python scripting .
