    CAI is looking for  Field Engineer in the Pittsburgh, Pa. area.

    This position will utilize a hands-on approach to effectively deal with technical and non-technical issues related to production. Duties include, but are not limited to:


    Job Responsibilities:


    • Conducts investigations involving processes within operations in manufacturing seamless tubular products to improve safety, quality and productivity.
    • Applies basic engineering/scientific principles to investigate existing or proposed equipment, processes or materials.
    • Consults with other personnel for the development of any aspects requiring specialized engineering/scientific training or experience.
    • Utilizes the resources of plant staff groups in project development to assist engineering in developing capital projects.
    • Assists in optimizing the safety, efficiency, and output of manufacturing processes through data collection from other technical and operating personnel.
    • Assumes responsibility for safety and environmental issues, as well as ongoing process performance.
    • Participates on Continuous Improvement teams with management, engineering and other staff to improve manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations that facilitate production processes.
    • Manages activities to stay within the forecasted spending budget.
    • Consults with clients to prepare project specifications.
    • Develop and implement processes to improve the manufacturing of seamless tubular products.


    Job Requirements:


    • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience • Ability to perform inspections of equipment • Visit customer sites and other field locations as needed • Follow all work instructions, specifications and requirements • Properly identify all visual defects by category and report findings to personnel • Knowledge of all applicable work instructions, specifications and requirements • Ensure all tools are on site • Set up all hand tools for the job being performed and verify calibration if applicable • Prepare accurate tickets, job reports, timesheets, and other administrative forms as required.
    • Inventory and track equipment.




    • Valid Drivers license with a clean driving record •Verbal and written communication skills •Computer skills in MS Word and Excel computer programs preferred •Ability to travel •Available on a 24-hour basis to respond to customer needs
