  • Position Description/Responsibilities (CCC/Vendor)

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive enterprise BI solutions for management & operational solutions for staff
    • Participate in the design/build of operational systems to ensure data resources are designed with BI/Reporting "in mind" from inception
    • Act as a subject matter expert for COGNOS BI tool and solutions
    • Define, architect, build and deploy reporting solutions and dashboards
    • Architect COGNOS environment to scale from few users to enterprise wide rollout including redesigning overall architecture, lean design, data modelling and flexible/scalable package creation in framework manager, security, performance and more as determined
    • Architect and Design Visualization dashboards through Tableau

    Position Requirements/Technical Skills (CCC/Vendor)

    Required Skills:

    • Experience working and collaborating in a team environment with minimal supervision, and follow predetermined guidelines
    • Experience including design and implementation of new Reporting/BI solutions, from Whiteboard to -implementation to support
    • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with business users to gather requirements and manage scope.
    • Expertise in the preparation of the architecture and design of data integration strategies and the implementation of data stores.
    • Expertise in DWH implementations including expertise in Kimball and Inmon design methodology
    • Expertise in designing scalable and flexible solutions in COGNOS including creating models and packages in framework manager, hierarchies, etc.
    • Advanced skills using Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio, Active Reports, and Business Insight Advanced.
    • Expert-level knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
    • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and proprietary databases including OLAP cubes
    • Experience in leading at least one complete Cognos implementation including, installing, configuring, and tuning Cognos architecture that is distributed over multiple servers.
    • Experience in leading at least one Cognos implementation involving migrating COGNOS from a legacy to new environment from another data warehouse tool to Cognos.
