    CAI is looking for a Senior Programmer to support the Qlikview (business intelligence) application within the Quality function and to engage in a rotational call schedule with other CUSTOMER resources.


    This is a multi-year position with CAI.


    This opening is located in Rochester, NY.


    QlikView Developer/Administrator


    The QlikView Developer/Administrator will work collaboratively with IT and business users to develop, implement, and automate analytical models and reports leveraging the company’s data assets and data discovery tools. The Developer will be responsible for transforming data into information which will be used to validate assumptions, support data driven decisions, and drive change to increase efficiencies and insights.  The developer will be responsible for new QV development & enhancements, end-user support, system administration/scheduling, root cause analysis of abends and communication with IT and business partners. This individual will provide ongoing support while recommending best practices and leading projects to implement new functionality.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


    • Leverage the data warehouse, operational systems, and existing models to design and develop Business Intelligence and Reporting applications using QlikView.
    • Support QlikView QA and Production environments. Includes handling help desk tickets, user inquiries and change requests. Be able to analyze issues, determine the root cause and identify solutions.
    • Lead discussions with business partners to identify functional requirements resulting in development of system specifications and QlikView applications.
    • Perform data modeling based on multiple data sources. (Oracle, SFDC, etc.)
    • Administer all aspects of QlikView development and production environments including access, security and performance tuning.
    • Ensure application stability and performance by monitoring existing production systems to ensure they are working correctly and that they reconcile with the system of record.
    • Ensure adequate testing and validation is completed for all projects.
    • Provide ad-hoc data analysis and support to business functions.
    • Perform software upgrades.
    • Maintain working relationships with Vision Care, Surgical, and other business partners with the focus on understanding the data sources used by the company for decision support
    • Maintain working relationships with peers/vendors supporting ongoing projects and delivered solutions


    Skills/ Requirements:


    • 8 years of experience with QlikView development and administration
    • 8 years of experience with SQL, data warehouse and business intelligence tools
    • 5 years of experience with Oracle (DML, DDL, stored procedures)
    • Experience with Informatica PowerCenter or other ETL tools preferred
    • Experience with Qlik NPrinting
    • Familiarity with UI Design
    • High aptitude for problem solving and analytical thinking
    • Ability to gather and document business requirements
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills with the ability to communicate technical solutions to  non-technical audiences
    • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment
    • Highly organized, able to work independently, motivated to successfully meet deadlines, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task




    BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology
